Given the concerns about terrorism and dirty bombs as well as nuclear accidents such as Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, I decided to explore this area for possible domain names.
Radiation Safety and Domaining
For predictive domaining, I started with the CDC, the center for disease control and prevention in the U.S. What we know as radiation sickness is also known as acute radiation syndrome.
The dot coms are taken for AcuteRadiationSyndrome and RadiationSickness but other tlds are open if you want to develop a website.
I followed a link to The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education(ORISE) to see what predictive domaining might be accomplished there. Radiation emergency and radiation disaster leaped off the page for me.
RadiationEmergency dot com is taken but the other tlds are open. RadiationDisaster dot com is open whether you want to hold it in case of future events or you could think of developing it as a website perhaps covering the history of radiation disasters with an eye to being seen as an expert in the future.
Weapons of Mass Destruction and Domaining
This got me thinking about the different types of weapons known as “weapons of mass destruction”. These are thought of as biological, chemical and radiological or bio, chem and rad. So how about BioChemRad? Turns out it is completely available. This is one where I decided to pick up the dot com and am likely to develop this. ChemBioRad dot com is taken but the other tlds are available. Any doomsday takers?
This area is already taking off including development of equipment to detect these agents.
Bioterrorism and Predictive Domaining
Moving over to the Bioterrorism area of the CDC, they talk about BioTerrorismAgents (which is available). Lists of agents are included on this part of the site though whether any of them are worth investing in as domain names is up to you.
Chemical Agents and Domaining
Finally I paid a visit to the chemical emergencies area. Toxic syndrome descriptions are given for different chemical agents and best of all ToxicSyndrome and ToxicSyndromes are available. If chemical agents are used in an attack, these could become well known terms.
The potential of these agents is horrific to think about and some of you may feel it is immoral to cash in in this area. On the other hand, what if you develop a website or sell your domain name to someone who will develop a website designed to provide information and help in the event of a tragedy.
