Jamie Parks of DomainDeveloper.com has started an interesting experiment in domaining. He has decided to stream live through LiveDomainer.com in an effort to engage domainers more completely. He states that he wants to create a “sharing and learning” environment for domainers and build relationships with other domainers in this interactive environment.
Rich media has becoming more popular on the Internet but it continues to be a mostly one way experience e.g. videos and depends on author tagging their audio or video to allow searches to work. I think Jamie’s experiment is a rich media equivalent to a bulletin board or chat room that has the potential to encourage synergy between domainers and at the very least an exchange of ideas. Please do drop by and say hello
Another Google Labs experiment
As those who read this blog regularly already know, I like to see what Google is doing to address the various challenges that present themselves and rich media is no exception.
GAudi
GAudi is a new experiment in Google Labs which is using audio software to index videos. You search for a keyword and the software finds all the places in a video that this word was spoken. Clicking on a search result causes it to skip through the video to the point where that word was used. Now you don’t have to listen to the whole video to find the key parts of interest. Their experiment is limited right now to political videos but demonstrates the potential power this kind of indexing could have for rich media.

Awesome! Thanks for the post Barry. I really enjoyed our visit a few nights ago. Looking forward to sharing many more days and nights with everyone =)
LiveDomainer.com really is an interesting concept. Some of the podcasts Jamie plays when away are equally interesting. I really enjoyed listening to one of the Steve Pavlina podcasts on LiveDomainer last week.
Best of luck with the project Jamie!
