Agree that more than one hyphen in a domain name seems spammy because they are used to string keywords together and content is often scraped with ads.
You often lose traffic to the non-hyphenated version also.
There are legitimate uses but it should be approached carefully.

If you’ll invest in such domain names, then prepare to just pay the regfees but if I where you, you will just let it drop.

iReport .com sale and the domains I listed above.

There is a world of difference between Rick
and that eBay seller.

The difference is Rick did not put his domain
on eBay for $750,000 hoping someone will bite.

CNN came to him. He didn’t go to them.

Plus iReport .com is a much better domain than
those I listed above IMHO.

I wouldn’t have paid $750,000 for it though and
in all likelihood neither would you.

I don’t know Rick personally but from what I
can gather he is not in a position where he
has to sell any of his domains.

I’ll bet if you or I had owned iReport .com,
CNN would have paid a whole lot less than
$750,000.

Can we anticipate this? Not really but with a diversity of high quality domains, it is bound to happen and here is where Rick benefits.
